The film "City of God"

This film is one of my favorites, because I suffered and I laughed seeing, therefore, is one of the frames that best memory.

It is of Brazilian origin, was made ​​in 2002 by the director Fernando Meirelles, and was adapted from a novel by Paulo Lins, based on a true story.

The context of the film is set in the favelas of Brazil, specifically Rio de Janeiro in the 60s, 70s and 80s, with a struggle between drug traffickers.

The film tells the story of a Cohete with little Ze, who meet as children, but their adult lives take different directions, the first aspires to be a notorious photographer, while the second is a feared and powerful drug dealer in the City of God.

The shooting of the film itself presented problems, because they had to seek permission from the head of the favela to record in place more securely. The chief requested a condition that most of the extras that were acting in the film scenes. In addition, most of the characters were from there.

The film shows a totally dangerous, where are recurring crime, violence, murder, drug wars and corrupt Brazilian police.

For the Oscars in 2003 was nominated for 4 categories (Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Editing), but did not win any.
